Xie Shaoguang is a former Chinese actor who has performed in many television shows produced by the Singaporean TV channel ‘channel 8’. The actor has won 10 awards in appreciation of his outstanding performance in the Singaporean television industry.
In 1989, Xie Shaoguang debuted in ‘A Mother’s Love’, which received huge love from the public and he became a sensation overnight. After that, many other Xie Shaoguang dramas were released in the Chinese language including ‘The Legends of Jigong’ and ‘Baby Blues’. The actor has been awarded twice in 1996 as ‘Best Actor Male’ during the 3rd Star Awards Ceremony. One award was in recognition of his role as Sai Wei in ‘the Golden Pillow’ and the other as Junxiong in ‘The Last Rhythm’. However, he got his first award in 1995 for ‘Larceny of Love’ in which he played the character of Jiang Zefu. In 2002, he was again nominated for the Best Actor Award for the television series ‘Beautiful Connection’.
Xie has been on the list of the ‘Top 10 Most Popular Artistes’ during the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 14th Star Awards Ceremony organized by MediaCorp. In 2005, the actor decided to finish his acting career and spent the rest of his life as a religious monk. Later, in 2016, it was discovered that he has joined the profession of chef and is living a normal life.
