Christopher Haden-Guest is a British-American screenwriter, composer, musician, director, actor, and comedian who was born on February 5, 1948. In Hollywood, he is most well known for his mockumentary comedy films. Many scenes and character backgrounds in Guest’s films are scripted and directed, however, the cast has no rehearsal time and improvises during filming. His filmography includes ‘This Is Spinal Tap’, ‘A Mighty Wind’, ‘For Your Consideration’, and ‘Mascots’. In addition to being the ‘5th Baron Haden-Guest’, Guest holds a hereditary British peerage and has publicly called for the ‘House of Lords’ to be reformed into a democratically elected chamber.
He usually refers to himself as Lord Haden-Guest when using his title. Guest married to Jamie Lee Curtis, an actress, and author. In the early 1970s, Guest made his professional debut in Michael Weller’s’ ‘Moonchildren’, its American premiere at the Arena Stage in Washington, in November 1971. During the Broadway run in 1972, Guest continued to perform in the show. In National Lampoon’s Lemmings, he appeared in ‘Chevy Chase’ and ‘John Belushi’. In 1972 and 1974, Chris guest movies were uniformed police officers in ‘The Hot Rock and Death Wish’. 1977 All in the Family episode “Mike and Gloria Meet” featured Guest as Michael’s college friend Jim, who dated Gloria’s girlfriend Debbie (Priscilla Lopez) on their first blind date.
