Bruce MacLeish Dern has successfully made his name in American movies as a villain. He started his acting career in 1959 from Broadway and later featured in many television series and Hollywood movies. He has also received Golden Globe Award and BAFTA Award nominations.
After studying acting from The Actors Studio, Manhattan, he appeared in the stage play ‘Waiting for Godot’ with a small role. He made his film debut in 1960 in the movie ‘Wild River’ and later starred in ‘Marnie’ (1964), ‘Hang ‘Em High’ (1968), ‘Hush…Hush, Sweet Charlotte’ (1964), ‘Support Your Local Sheriff! ,’ and ‘They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?’ (both 1969).
He mostly appeared as a murderer or theif in many movies like ‘The Cowboys’ (1972), ‘Silent Running,’ ‘The King of Marvin Gardens’ (both 1972), ‘The Great Gatsb’ (1974), and ‘Posse’ (1975). In 2022 he got the opportunity to direct a video game, Shadow Stalkers. Other Bruce Dem movies that boosted his career are ‘The Rebel Rousers,’ ‘Thumb Tripping,’ ‘Coming Home,’ and ‘Nebraska.’ His upcoming movies include Chocolate Lizard, Reminisce, Asphalt Jungle, and The Most Dangerous Game.
Dren received his first Award in 1972 for Best Supporting Actor in the movie ‘Drive, He Said.’ In 2019, he was awarded Best Actor Award during the Horrorant International Film Festival.
