Aaliyah Dana Haughton was a successful Hollywood singer who died at 22 in a tragic plane crash. She has been given the titles of “Queen of Urban Pop” and “Princess of R&B” owing to her amazing contribution to hip hop, R&B, and pop music.
Aaliyah was lucky enough to learn music since her school age. She got the opportunity to share the stage with Gladys Knight when she was just 10 years old. She was approached by Jive Records and signed the contract upon approval of her mentor R. Kelly. In 1994, Aaliyah debuted as a singer in the album ‘Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number.’ The album was a smash hit.
Her next album, ‘One in a Million,’ was released in 1996 by Atlantic Records. Aaliyah has been awarded 14 accolades owing to her contribution to the R&B, hip hop, and pop music, including three ‘American Music Awards,’ one ‘Billboard Award,’ two ‘MTV Video Music Awards,’ and one ‘MOBO Award.’
